Christine Adreani, VMD Ph.D
Co-founder, Director
Christine grew up in the Boston area, and despite her suburban surroundings, she developed a love of animals and equestrian sports at a young age. To this day, she derives a great deal of passion and enthusiasm in her professional life from these interests. She obtained her B.A. in Biology from Boston University and her Ph.D in Physiology from the University of California, Davis. She received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania, followed by an internship at the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and residency in large animal surgery at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center. She then worked in a private veterinary referral practice as a staff surgeon for 3 years, during which time she passed the surgical boards and obtained Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
In 2008 she moved into pharmaceutical R&D by taking at position at Merck Research Laboratories in Rahway, NJ, where she worked for 5 years in roles of increasing responsibility, including several project team leadership roles. For the past 3 years, she has worked in the Translational In Vivo Models global research platform at Sanofi, based in Boston. She is a licensed veterinarian in MA and NY, and holds USDA Category II accreditation.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, riding her horse, and volunteering to provide veterinary care for livestock in rural Haiti.
