Cesaire Gai, MBA
Co-founder, Director
Cesaire was born and raised in Port–au–Prince, Haiti. He grew up surrounded by pets in his family home and farm animals and horses in the countryside surrounding Port-au-Prince. He was inspired to pursue a career working with animals.
When he came to the US, he attended university as a pre-medical student. He received his Associate's degree from Essex County College, and later transferred to Centenary College of New Jersey for his Bachelors degree. He continued on at Centenary College of New Jersey for his graduate studies, where he received his MBA.
Cesaire began working in the field of animal science and pharmaceutical R&D 26 years ago. He began at Bio-Dynamics (later Envigo) a privately-held contract research company. He spent 9 years there, working in the large animal, cardiovascular infusion, and surgical groups. Later he joined Merck Research Laboratories, where he currently works. He is part of the Safety Assessment and Laboratory Animal Resources group. In his career, he has only worked for two companies because he values longstanding relationships and, more importantly, he has developed a bond with the animals he works with.
Outside of work, he is involved in several philanthropic organizations. He also loves sports, and played soccer in college and in a semi- professional league in New Jersey. He enjoys spending quality time with his family.
